The decision to restructure the Vineyard and begin our own wine production and brand was taken in 2002. The strategy was clear: the economical and ecological aspects should advance together towards true sustainability, in which Nature and Labour harmonize in a meaningful way.

Biodynamic agriculture, a way that fully seeks to understand and work with the life forces of the terroir, is the path we chose. From it we expect the uniqueness of the land to come to light through its fruits - original, inimitable wines.

The autochtonous vine varieties Loureiro and Vinhão - present in our vineyards for centuries, shall continue to be the basis of our identity, aimed to become references in an international wine landscape where regional diversity is one of the foremost values.

Why Afros?

Extremely floral and fruited in aroma, our wines and young, fresh and seductive. As a tribute to these feminine qualities, we decided to dedicate them to Aphrodite, the Goddess closest to Dyonisus, the inspirer of Wine and ecstasy.

According to the ancient Myth, Aphrodite means "Foam-born", Afros being the name of the foam out of which the beautiful maiden arises.
